The Victoria & Alfred Hotel is a 1904 North Quay Warehouse, converted in 1990 to a luxury hotel, it is named in honour of the Queen of England and her son who visited the Cape in 1870, when Prince Alfred officially opened the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. There is a colonial ambience with a sense of past shipwrecks and storms that decorate the public areas emphasized by the wooden staircase and the iconic telescope.
The 94 spacious, air-conditioned, en-suite rooms are spread over three floors. The Junior Suites on the first and second floor face Table Mountain or the cosmopolitan Piazza, while the third floor is home to 26 sophisticated superior loft rooms, with more elevated views. The rooms are large, with data compatible flat-screen televisions, wireless internet and trouser press, complimentary filter coffee, herbal teas and biscuits as well as complimentary welcome beverages on arrival.
Other features of the hotel are the designer spa treatment rooms and gym facilities, a travel consultancy and Information service, a secretarial service, professional child minding services and a fleet of luxury sedans for airport, city and restaurant transfers.
The pool and bar area is across the way in a beautifully manicured garden, also an ideal setting for al fresco dining.
