Three Trees Lodge at Spioenkop is located on the side of the famous hill of Spioenkop, overlooking the secluded Spioenkop Game Reserve in the valley below. This traditional corrugated iron farm house is surrounded by a typical Natal verandah, where homely meals are often served while enjoying the tranquil views.
The reason for visiting the region is aptly explained in the words of the late David Rattray "Bringing to vivid life the struggle between one of the largest Empires in history and one of the smallest nations in the world". While Simon and Cheryl ensure that guests experience warm hospitality in their family run lodge, be it on a siesta around the elevated pool and sundeck or at sundown in a surprise location on the rocky hillside.
There are 6 luxury suites and 1 family suite, which is set slightly away from the main building. All the rooms have ¾ twin beds and comfy sitting areas which open out to viewing decks, the en-suite bathrooms have separate showers and the bath tubs are placed at the windows to soak up the views.
The lounge and dining area are elegant flowing spaces, separated only by a fireplace and decorated in a welcoming farm house style, with double doors opening out to the verandah.
