
Eagle Island Camp is situated on Xaxaba Island, in the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta. The camp is surrounded by Illala Palms and overlooks a lagoon, which is fed by the tranquil waterways of the Delta. This peaceful setting allows you to witness the most magnificent sunsets from the raised deck, al fresco meals are also enjoyed here.
There are 11 tented rooms, set on raised wooden decks, with thatched roofs. The interiors are luxuriously appointed, with hand carved bedside tables and lamps, grass woven wall hangings and headboards and twin or king four-poster beds draped with mosquito netting. All the tents are air? conditioned and have overhead fans and electric heaters as well as personal safes and fully stocked mini bars. The en-suite bathrooms offer double vanity units, shaving mirrors, hair dryers and walk-in showers. The comfy sitting areas open out to private viewing decks with hammocks and easy chairs overlooking the lagoon.
From April to October, you are spoilt with a choice of game viewing in the surrounding lagoons, by mokoro, motorized boats and on sundowner barges. When the water levels are lower, from December to March, you can do morning, afternoon and evening game drives on open 4x4 vehicles. Guided safari walks are offered all year around on the surrounding islands, there is also the option of doing an incredible 45 minute helicopter game viewing excursion.
This camp is known for its unique Fish Eagle Bar, which is located away from the main buildings, on its own private island. Your stay at Eagle Island includes all meals and local drinks, same day laundry service, activities and park fees.
