Muchenje Safari Lodge is situated on the western edge of Botswana's Chobe National Park, only forty minutes drive from Kasane and just two hours from the Victoria Falls. The Lodge is set at the top of an escarpment, overlooking the banks of the Chobe River, and across the impressive flood plains. The main building incorporates an elegant dining area, bar, library and a small gift shop. The reception lounge is a relaxing space, with teak chairs and comfy leather couches and the whole building opens out to wide viewing decks, which lead off to the swimming pool, all taking full advantage of the fantastic views in a tranquil and refreshing setting.
The 11 thatched chalets are privately laid out along the edge of the escarpment, each with balconies open to unique views. The twin or king beds are draped with thick mosquito netting, the woven wicker chairs are at the sunny windows and the chunky wood poles and shaped iron art, give the rooms a stylish ethnic touch. The en-suite bathrooms offer double inlayed vanities and large walk-in showers.
Enjoy the friendly hospitality of this privately owned and managed lodge, where you can explore the region on morning, afternoon and night game drives with professional guides. Venture onto the Chobe River by boat to witness active herds of elephants and other wildlife attracted to the water's edge. You can go on guided bush walks and visit the local village to meet the people that make Botswana such a special place.
