Tau Pan Camp is situated within Botswana's Central Kalahari Game Reserve, on the edge of the incredible Tau Pan. The Camp is perched in an elevated position on a sand ridge overlooking a very active water hole and the vast Kalahari horizon. The main area has a warm farmhouse atmosphere, with minimalistic furnishings of dark woods and comfy cushions in the friendly dining room and lounge, which flow out to a wide viewing deck. The pool deck has its own secluded position where you can relax on shaded loungers and gaze out at the tranquil views.
The 8 custom-built desert rooms have rustic textured wall plaster and unusually shaped thatched roofs. They are privately set apart from each other, one of which is large enough to accommodate a family. All the rooms are solar powered and they have ceiling fans. The twin or king beds are flanked by comfy sitting areas furnished in leathers and raw woods and the en-suite bathrooms are very spacious, with double vanities and large indoor and outdoor showers. Wide double doors open the rooms out to private viewing decks, overlooking the Pan.
The highlights of your visit are the walks, which are guided by local San Bushmen who take great pride in explaining their survival in this region, which is known as the place where the waters of the Okavango come to rest. Morning and evening game drives are conducted in open vehicles.
Your stay at Tau Pan Camp includes all meals and drinks, laundry service and daily game activities.
