Hog Hollow Country Lodge is situated on the Garden Route near Plettenberg Bay in a private nature reserve which has been re-established from an alien wattle wasteland. The lodge is set on a steep landscape with breathtaking views of the indigenous forest and the Tsitsikamma Mountains. The main house has three lounge areas to which you can escape with a book or a pair of binoculars. The Pool Lounge leads out to the cool blue swimming pool and its surrounding recliners, while the Reading Room is a quiet haven and the Ficus Lounge looks onto an ancient fruit-laden tree, which is a birders paradise. Special features of Hog Hollow are the Forest Sauna and the private Forest Shower with incredible views over the valley. There are picturesque walking trails and all sorts of treats and facilities for children.
The 16 suites are privately placed in the lush gardens and are decorated in a distinctive African-style using hand-crafted artifacts, wall hangings and splashes of vibrant colours. Each suite has a full en-suite bathroom, a lounge area, mini-bar, mini hifi, a king size bed with crisp linens and a private wooden deck complete with a lazy hammock.
Farmhouse breakfasts are served on the wooden deck overlooking the forest and gourmet dinners are enjoyed around the large dining room table in the centre of the house, followed by nightcaps near the crackling fire in the Boma.
