The twin islands of St Kitts and Nevis have a lot in common. Both share a common heritage and are blessed with spacious beaches, historic plantation houses and pleasant mountainous scenery. Increasingly, both islands are also attracting the overseas traveller looking for laid-back sophistication and relaxation. Until the advent of tourism the islands were almost totally dependent upon sugarcane production, as evidenced by the many historic planation houses, many of which have been converted into modern resorts and attractions. Not known for their nightlife, the two islands do, however, offer the visitor a pleasant year round climate, low humidity and lovely, natural scenery.
