Located on the island of Vabbinfaru, the Banyan Tree is both secluded and accessible at the same time. Vabbinfaru is a small, roughly circular island with excellent beaches and close access to the surrounding reef. The resort is notable for its work with marine conservation issues and is home to a Marine Biology laboratory. Guests are able to participate with the staff in monitoring the many programmes with which it is involved. Asian influences are apparent in the seashell-shaped, conical thatched-roofed villas, which border and overlook the islands white-sand beaches.

ROOMS AND FACILITIES:

All of the villas are of the same size, enjoying differing aspects around the island. They are air-conditioned and feature one bedroom with an open terrace, four-poster bed, recessed sitting area, landscaped garden, open-air jet pool and private sundeck. Rooms are divided between:
