Covering 25 hectares, Cousine island is situated 6 kilometres off the west coast of Praslin. Cousine is a unique natural paradise and conservation area and one of the worlds last remaining pristine islands. It is home to many protected species and is the base for a number of wildlife recovery and conservation programs. Guests staying on Cousine Island contribute to its future. All profits are put back and used for conservation projects and day-to-day running of the island.
Villas are built 30 metres apart in French Colonial-style and come with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, private bathroom with jacuzzi, two showers, spacious lounge, large bedroom overlooking the ocean, kitchenette with ice machine, front and rear veranda, mini-bar, telephone, TV and video, safe, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The villas are situated only 30 metres from the beach, each with its own front entrance. All enjoy views of nearby Praslin. Only four couples are allowed on the island at one time, ensuring privacy, isolation and a feeling of ownership.
The central Pavilion features great views, a bar, swimming pool, library, lounge and dining area. The island's conservation officer is available to provide guided walks whilst explaining the principals behind local eco-management and conservation issues. The island is also available for exclusive use and facilities exist for in-house dining.
