Egypt - Touring and Nile Cruising

Egypt is a large and diverse country, its many sites and sounds spread far and wide. Careful and detailed itiner aryplanning is therefore essential. Most start in Cairo with a visit to the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza. Visitors should also consider the Egyptian Museum, the bazaars of Khan El-Khalili and Islamic Cairo. The port city of Alexandria is with the Western desert oasis of Siwa is also increasingly popular. The ancient Nile city of Luxor is famous for its ancient artefacts. The temples of Luxor and Karnak, the Valleys of the Kings and the Queens featuring on most itineraries. Luxor is the centre for Nile Cruising with a variety of cruise vessels and itineraries visiting notable sites enroute to or returning from the southern city of Aswan. The famous temple complex of Abu Simbel is a popular excursion for visitors to Aswan along with the High Dam, Philae temple and Lake Nasser.
