Dating from the 18th century, Riad Kniza is a small, luxury 'Hotel de Charme', located in the heart of the old Médina of Marrakesh close to the Doukkala Gate. The Riad was completely restored by the owner, a professional guide for the past 34 years, Haj Mohamed Bouskri, using traditional materials and artisans to recreate in an original Moroccan style around two open courtyards. The property features ornate fireplaces, ttraditonal furniture and beatiful antiques, supplied by the owner himself, also one of the city's most renowned antique dealers. Riad Kniza features eleven tastefully decorated rooms and suites, many of them ideal for families, all accessible from two patios. The Riad is an excellent base from which to explore the city, only a few minutes' walk from the famous Jema al' Fna square, the colourful souks and the monuments and cultural treasures of Marrakesh, and a short distance from the Gueliz, the modern quarter of Marrakech.

Riad Kniza offers 11 rooms and suites, all, except Deluxe rooms, complete with separate living areas, period fireplaces in all but one Deluxe room and twin or double beds, built around three courtyards open to the sky:

1 Royal Suit, 'Bahia', located on the second floor .
4 Senior Suites, 'Yakout', 'Kenza' and 'Ambar', all located on the second floor, 'Ambar' also featuring an upper floor bedroom and 'Sultan', located on the ground floor.
2 Junior Suites, 'Johara' and 'Loubana', located on the second floor.
2 Superior Deluxe Rooms, 'Qamar' and 'Samar', located on the second floor.
2 Deluxe Room, 'L'Orientale' and 'Marjana', located on the second floor.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE OUTLETS:

The home-cooked Cuisine at Riad Kniza is reputed to be amongst the finest in Marrakesh. Traditional Moroccan meals are served on the scenic rooftop terrace offering superb views of the Atlas Mountains and the old Medina or in either of the two patio salons.
